January 11, 2012, Ma`alaea, Maui, HI – Maui’s most unique Valentine’s dining experience is the Sea of Love Dinner at Maui Ocean Center. This highly-anticipated signature event will be held on Tuesday, February 14th. Featuring a decadent menu, semi-private seating and the beauty of Hawaii’s marine life, the Sea of Love Dinner promises an unforgettable evening for all.
Upon entering the Aquarium, guests will be greeted with a special Valentine’s lei for the ladies then personally escorted to their reserved table in the Living Reef Exhibit or oceanview Seascape Ma‘alaea Restaurant and offered complimentary welcome glasses of sparkling wine. The evening’s elaborate four-course meal is exquisitely prepared by James Beard nominee Chef Henry Tariga and catered by the award-winning Seascape Ma‘alaea Restaurant, sure to whet anyone’s appetite for love!
To begin the meal, the shared Lover’s Platter is a tempting combination of three appetizers including Seared Ahi Sashimi with Wasabi Oil, Chilled Shrimp Cocktail, and Smoked Duck Breast Confit. The Cupid’s Salad is a medley of Manoa Butter Lettuce and Spring Mix with Mozzarella Cheese Roulades and Basil, sundried Tomato, Olives, shaved Onions and fresh Tomato drizzled with Balsamic Vinaigrette. Valentines may choose between five savory main course entrées; Crab stuffed baked fresh Island Fish with Champagne Cream Sauce, Broiled Prawns and Filet Mignon with Veal Demi Glaze, Truffle Butter Cream Macadamia Nut crusted baked Chicken Breast, Mango Chutney Lamb Chops with Rosemary Au Jus, or Wild Mushroom Ravioli drizzled with Truffle Oil and Balsamic Syrup. Entrées will be served with the Chef’s choice of accompaniments. The evening includes a complimentary welcome glass of sparkling wine beverage for each guest, with Champagne upgrades and bar service available for an additional fee.
Last but not least, the Strawberry Florentine; a Caramel Basket filled with French Creme and fresh Strawberries, drizzled with Caramel Glaze and Powdered Sugar. Dessert is served with a choice of coffee or tea.
The Sea of Love Dinner is $99 per person plus gratuity and tax. Seating times are between 6pm and 8pm. Reservations are required and early reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited. Ensure a romantic evening at the Sea of Love Dinner by calling (808) 270-7088 Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Reservations for Maui Ocean Center members begin on Tuesday, January 31st and open to the general public on Wednesday, February 1st. Aquarium members must provide their membership number upon making reservations and are limited to reserving one table per membership. Calls will be taken in the order received.
