Event: Sleep with the Sharks Sleepovers
Synopsis: Children in the 3rd through 8th grades are invited to sleepover at The Hawaiian Aquarium. This exciting overnight includes a supervised feeding of green sea turtles, a chance to touch live sea creatures, fun with ocean crafts, and more!  Fee includes a pizza dinner, snacks, and continental breakfast.

Children in 3rd through 8th grades are invited to sleepover at The Hawaiian Aquarium.  Maui Ocean Center’s Education Team will host this exciting evening, which begins at 5:30 p.m. on a Friday and ends at 8 a.m. the following Saturday morning.  The cost is $60 plus tax per child which includes a pizza dinner, snacks, a continental breakfast, and more.  Special group and membership rates are available.  Reservations are required for the sleepovers. Sleepover activities are subject to change.

The aquarium after dark is an exciting place to be – certain animals will come out of hiding while others seem to disappear from sight.  Sleepover participants will have the unique opportunity to witness the behaviors of nocturnal fish.  Children will also discover how some animals can make their own light and participate in a supervised feeding of green sea turtles and hammerhead sharks.  The night will also include touching live sea creatures, fun with ocean crafts, and more! At 11 p.m., it is lights’ out and time for everyone to tuck into their sleeping bags to sleep with the sharks!  Participants will wake up to observe the beautiful Open Ocean Exhibit, feed more sea critters and enjoy a continental breakfast before it is time to depart from the Aquarium at 8 a.m.

Aquarium members receive 15% off admission and groups of 15 or more qualify for a reduced group rate. Discounts cannot be combined. Advance reservations are required, call (808) 270-7075.
