School Field Trips
Take part in Self-Guided School Field Trips with Lesson Plans
and Activities. Are you looking for a great way to learn about Hawaii's unique
marine life and fascinating culture? Maui Ocean Center will work
with you
and your
class to create a customized field trip! Field trips are available
any day of the week. Advanced booking is required. Call 270-7075.
Arrival Times: 9am - 3pm
Price: $5.00 for Hawaii students, $10.00 for out-of-state students, 1 free chaperone per 8 students (minimum requirement). Additional chaperones $10.80 for Hawaii schools, $15.00 for out-of-state schools. All prices are plus Hawaii State Tax.
Requirements: School field trips are for a school class on a field trip for curriculum enhancement. For sports teams, musical groups, youth organizations and other youth programs, please click here.
Naturalist Greeting: Upon arrival, your group will be greeted by
a Naturalist and given a presentation at one of the following exhibits:
Living Reef
Building, Hammerhead Harbor or Open Ocean Exhibit.
Lunch: $5.00 per lunch for cheese or pepperoni pizza, hot dog and
chips, hamburger and chips or cheeseburger with chips (all come with
drinks).
School groups can also bring their own lunches for a picnic on the
Nalu Lawn. (Lawn needs to be reserved).
Reservations: Field Trip and Lunches must be reserved at least 5
days in advance. For best date availability, especially during peak
seasons,
book
at least several weeks in advance.
Guided Tours: Guided tours of Maui Ocean Center are also available
for your school group. There is a minimum charge of $70.00 (plus
tax) for the
first hour, and we recommend a ratio of 20 students per Naturalist.
Chaperones: A minimum of 1 chaperone per 8 students is required, and receives complimentary admission. Additional chaperones are $10.80 for Hawaii schools, $15.00 for out-of-state schools. Chaperones must fill out and sign a chaperone agreement prior to arrival.
